The next tier of Tapiz wines begins with the 2005 Zolo Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from a single vineyard. It was aged for 15 months in mostly French oak. The nose gives up toasty oak scents along with mineral, spice box, and black currant. Medium-bodied, on the palate it has savory flavors, moderate depth and concentration, good balance, and a fruit-filled finish. It will evolve for 1-2 years but can be enjoyed now through 2013.
