This blend of 55% Grenache, 25% Mourvedre and 20% Shiraz is designed to showcase the versatility and strength of three of the area’s key red wine varieties and highlight their importance to us at Schild.
Made without the use of oak, this wine derives its depth of flavour and complexity from the blending of three varieties, while early bottling ensures freshness.
Medium bodied in weight, the 2011 highlights the vibrant red berry fruit and spice component of this wine.
Colour: Dark ruby red
Bouquet: Ripe red cherries and spice.
Palate: Juicy red berry old vine Grenache fruit presents itself on the front palate whilst the Mourvedre and Shiraz provide structure, concentration and depth. Hints of white pepper and spice are evident with a soft tannin framework ensuring a supple, soft texture to finish.

Deep red. Aromas of red fruits, rose, lavender and cracked pepper, with a smoky overtone. Tangy redcurrant and raspberry flavors show very good clarity and pick up a subtle floral pastille quality with air, along with a touch of botanical herbs. Closes with good energy and cut and a note of tangy berry.-JR
