Explosive Napa Cab Great For The Cellar At A Reasonable PriceOver the past few weeks, one of the hottest 2007 Napa Cabernets in the store and on the web has been the Anderson's Conn Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. For good reason too; it's always among the best Cabs out there for the money, maintaining a very reasonable sub-$50 price tag while others around them climb to $100 and above.Robert Parker's recently released 94 point rating might have had something to do with the recent buzz with the wine as well. After all, this was Parker's highest rated 2007 Napa Cab under $50!The 2007 Anderson's Conn Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve has great concentration with black currants, cedar, and layers and layers of fruit with great structure and backbone on the finish. This is certainly a wine that will age very well. It drinks very similar to a St Julien from a great vintage.

As I indicated last year, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a brilliant effort. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it has begun to shut down slightly, but reveals an opaque purple color along with deep, sweet, cedary, black currant aromas intermixed with hints of tobacco leaf, licorice and graphite. Full-bodied, powerful and rich, this impressive 2007 needs 4-5 years of cellaring and should keep for 25+ years.
