Cocoa powder, vanilla, Asian spice and black raspberry frame the nose on our first Falstaff. The power and intensity are in full display with tons of flavor and mid-palate body that are still unfolding. The finish is big and long with a focus and resonance on the palate, avoiding any of the green notes that are sometimes associated with Cabernet Franc. This wine has a strong character and leaves a big impression.
Robert Parker 91+ Points
The 2007 The Falstaff (66% Cabernet Franc, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest equal parts Merlot and Petit Verdot) reveals beautiful aromas of blueberries, raspberries, bouquet garni, wood spice, espresso, and smoky oak. It possesses outstanding texture, sweet, velvety tannins, and an opulent, fleshy mouthfeel. The high proportion of Cabernet Franc will lead to more and more complex aromatics as the wine ages in bottle. It should age easily for 15+ years.

Bright ruby-red. Perfumed, cool nose shows lovely floral lift. Subtle berry flavors are perked up by spice and floral elements. Nicely understated wine with a subtle sweetness and good juicy persistence.
