Top Value Napa Cabernet From 96 Point Vintage
The November 15th issue of the Wine Spectator features California Cabernet 2009 as the fourth great vintage in a row. James Laube has an article in the same issue titled “Napa Cabernet Triumphs Again -A stunning vintage in 2009 yields a bounty of great wine” In the article, he remarks, “What makes the 2009 vintage in Napa (96 points on Wine Spectator's 100-point scale) distinctive is that it combines the best attributes of two prior classics-2007 (Napa: 97) and 2008 (Napa: 96). The '07s are opulent and richly flavored; the 2008s are denser and more refined. The 2009s are rich and polished, ripe without being overripe, displaying great structure and finesse….”The 2009 Joseph Phelps Innisfree Cabernet Sauvignon is a perfect example of just how great the 2009 vintage is in Napa. We feel the quality of the Innisfree in this vintage is much better than in 2008. There is as much concentration as the 2008, but with more balance and structure.

Ripe black currant fruit on the nose. Very rich and concentrated fruit on the entry with cassis, black currant, and blueberry. Great balance and purity of fruit with a long and rich finish with some fine tannins. An outstanding Napa Cabernet for just $19.99!
