Joe Heitz came to the Napa Valley in 1951 and worked alongside Andre Tchelistscheff at BV. He bought his first vineyard in 1961 and the legendary Heitz Cellars was born. He introduced the concept of a vineyard designate in 1966 with the now famous "Martha's Vineyard", and pioneered numerous ideas in winemaking throughout his life. His name and Napa Cabernet go hand in hand.

Our 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet unfolds with the authority of a classic wine from the Napa Valley! This wine makes a good first impression with its striking garnet color and vibrant bouquet, but it is memorable for the depth of its varietal character.

Centrally focused around a rich core of fruit, it fills the mouth with tiers of bright cherry flavor and underlying notes of darker berry. With a nice balance of lively oak tannins and brisk acidity, this wine glides easily across the palate for a lengthy and satisfying finish. Enjoy the youthful brilliance of this Cabernet today, or cellar it to reward yourself for many years come!
