Winemaker's Notes:
The 2010 season was framed by cool weather, good development in the vineyard and a delayed harvest. The vintage brought bright acidity, great aromatics and flavor. The grapes were picked the last week of September through the first week of October, de-stemmed and cold soaked for seven days. Fermentation took place over six days in small stainless steel tanks. Pump-overs were performed daily for maximum color and flavor extraction. The round, full and polished texture of this wine comes not only from the high quality fruit but also judicious use of oak—the wine was aged for 8 months in small French oak barrels with 20% new oak.
An elegant, medium bodied Pinot Noir. Aromas are highlighted by ripe cherries and raspberries with clove and toasted oak accents. In he mouth this wine is soft and velvety with juicy cherry-berry flavors along with a hint of spiciness. The finish is nicely balanced with moderatetannins.
