Founded in 1996 by Bill Foley, Lincourt is a situated in the Santa Ynez Valley. A long time wine enthusiast, Bill has been particularly enchanted with the wines of Burgundy. In 1994 he discovered that the potential to produce some of America's most distinguished versions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay lay just miles north of his home.
The Lincourt winery is located in the heart of Santa Barbara wine country. Originally a dairy farm, the property retains the rural charm and simplicity of an earlier era. The quaint tasting room is located in the former farmhouse, a 1926 Sears Craftsman kit home. The barns have been converted to a winery and barrel rooms, and equipped to allow for handcrafted, premium winemaking.
The fruit for Lincourt Santa Barbara County Chardonnay is sourced from Santa Maria's famous Bien Nacido Vineyard in combination with cool-climate fruit from vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills. The juicy tropical aromatics of coconut, mango and papaya and lush texture are the hallmarks of Bien Nacido. Sta. Rita Hills fruit lends more citric notes of mandarin orange and key lime, and brisk acidity to give backbone to the wine.
