Robert Foley began his wine making career in the Napa Valley in 1977, working at a number of highly regarded Napa Valley wineries including the famous Pride Mountain Vineyards, where he spent 15 years as founding wine maker. During this period he also created the highly acclaimed Switchback Ridge, Hourglass, Paloma, School House, and Engel Family wines.
Winemaker's Notes:
Charbono, an obscure French variety grown in only a handful of California vineyards combines a remarkable depth of color with complex fruit and a soft finish. The 2008 vintage ripened this variety to perfection and this wine can arm wrestle with the big boys. Grapey, firm and ripe – you can enjoy the ’08 with any kind of cuisine.
