Winemaker's Notes:
Dark, rich and wonderfully focused, this classic Bordeaux-style blend manages to be approachable yet complex. The nose is redolent with dark berries that hint of cedar and toasty oak, while the palate serves up a wide range of complex flavors—currant, wild berries and black cherry with a pleasing wisp of herbs and vanilla-scented oak. On the finish, the flavors linger harmoniously with polished, supple tannins.
This wine consists of primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, with generous portions of Malbec and Petite Verdot, which add depth, richness and concentration. Cabernet Franc and Merlot round out this balanced, complex vintage of Hahn Meritage.
The multidimensional character of this blend is well-suited for rich and robust foods. Try it with duck confit with risotto and baby carrots. Or serve with a simple appetizer such as fig and blue cheese crostini.
