Winemaker's Notes:
For more than 30 years, our Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc has been one of our most popular and highly regarded wines. The fruit sourced for this Sauvignon Blanc comes from vineyards located in five different appellations in Sonoma County. Intense varietal aromas of lemongrass, melon and cilantro combine with flavors of grapefruit and pineapple culminating in a crisp finish.
The 2012 vintage had a long cool growing season and a bountiful crop that exhibited the distinctive aromas that Sauvignon Blanc is renowned for. Picked in late September and early October, the individual vineyard lots were harvested at their peak of flavor and then fermented in separate lots in stainless steel tanks. After aging, our winemaking team selected individual lots which form a harmonious and complex blend. The wine was produced without any barrel aging or malolactic fermentation, so the distinctive varietal character of Sauvignon Blanc would carry through to the bottle.
