Cuvaison's Carneros Chardonnay comes from their estate vineyard in the southern part of Napa Valley. This cool climate vineyard allows them to produce classic Carneros Chardonnay. By controlling all farming aspects within their own vineyard Cuvaison has the advantage by producing the quality fruit that they want for their style, minimizing the need for manipulation in the winery. Winemaker Steven Rogstad sums it up, "My style and philosophy are based on expressing the unique character of our estate grapes and doing as little as possible to them. When one has such wonderful fruit to work with, that should be ones emphasis."
Winemaker's Notes:
Aroma: Kiwi, clove spice, nectarine and lime zest with a hint of toasty oak. Palate: Lush, mouth filling flavors of peach, apricot and papaya backed by vanilla and allspice. Overall Impression: A super supple wine with a creamy, silky texture and vibrant, fresh fruit. Nicely balanced with a clean, satisfying finish.
