The wine and restaurant made famous in "Sideways", Hitching Post is the child of restaurant owner Frank Ostini and his friend Gray Hartley. Begun as a home winemaking project, it evolved into a house brand for the restaurant, and now a national brand.
All of the Hitching Post wines feature fruit from Santa Barbara, the home county of the restaurant. Cork Dancer refers to the action of Salmon jumping over the cork lines of the nets that Gray Hartley used in his previous life as a commercial fisherman. It is their lush, balanced Pinot, with good acidity and a more feminine style than their other bottlings. Great weekday Pinot!
