Winemaker's Notes:
Crafted from some of the oldest Dutton Ranch plantings in the Russian River AVA, our 2009 Sonoma Chardonnay is loaded with character. Similar to the cool weather that prevailed late in the 2008 growing season, the 2009 crop benefitted from long ripening times developing full maturity and well-defined flavors. A citrus menagerie of tangerine, orange rind and lemon cream pie blends with blossoms, honeycomb and floral spice. Loads of ripe citrus fruit are tethered by lively, natural acidity for a brilliant combination of breadth and balance. 1,200 cases produced.

Fresh, intense, rich and vibrant, with a tight core of citrus- and mineral-laced green apple, spice, pear and honeydew melon. Full-bodied and still a bit coarse, but should smooth out nicely. Drink now through 2018. 1,200 cases made.–JL
