The Chappellet family has been crafting world class wines from their winery on Pritchard Hill since 1967. Spurred by the notion that mountain fruit would make superior wine, Chappellet followed the advice of legendary winemaker André Tchelistcheff and settled on the rocky eastern slopes of the Napa Valley.
But Chardonnay needs a cooler climate, so the Chappellets sought out vineyards in the cooler south end of Napa to make Chardonnay. Chappellet’s Napa Valley Chardonnay is produced from fruit grown in the coolest regions of Napa Valley. Overlooking the San Pablo Bay, Kelly Ranch receives the benefits of the Bay’s marine influences, creating optimal growing conditions for Chardonnay. Excellent acidity and minerality bring a little bit of Burgundy to the Napa Valley!
