The 2008 Alpha Merlot is dark ruby red with an intriguing nose of cocoa/chocolate malt, a hint of herbs, cassis, and black cherry. Sweetly-fruited on the palate with a sense of elegance, this is a savory effort with good volume and a silky finish. It will offer enjoyment over the next 6-8 years.
