If you go to Vosne Romanee, there are seemingly hundreds of Mugnerets, all of them in the wine business. Dominique Mugneret is the third generation of his branch to be running the family domaine, originally Domaine Marcel Mugneret, then Denis Mugneret, and now Dominique Mugneret.
Dominique produces a variety of different bottlings, including this Haute Cotes de Nuits, drawn from vineyards at the top of, and in the valleys to the west of the Cote d'Or. In talented hands like Dominique's, these vineyards produce Pinot Noir with classic Burgundy style, but at a far more reasonable price.
