May 1, 2009 Wine Deals E-Blast
We've done it again...we found yet another outstanding 2005 Bordeaux for under $20! Ok, maybe the vintage is so good that it doesn't take a lot of searching to find them. (About eight of every ten we've tried have been very good.) But on this buy, we benefitted from good timing with the value of the dollar, obtaining it for about $5 less than it would normally cost.
Think of this wine as Bordeaux's new Chateau Reignac. Chateau Reignac, also a Bordeaux Superieur, used to be a $15-20 wine that would consistently score 88-89 points. Now, it's getting 90-92 points in each vintage and the price is $25-30. Will Feret-Lambert follow in their footsteps? Perhaps. But we've got it on the cheap now, so get it while the gettin's still good!

Robert Parker 89+ Points
An amazing effort from this excellent estate, Feret-Lambert's 2005 possesses a deep purple color in addition to sweet charcoal, black raspberry, and cherry notes intermixed with notions of graphite and spice. It is medium-bodied with admirable purity, outstanding intensity, and a surprisingly long finish with no hard edges. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
