Proprietor Coralie Goumarre took over Domaine Galevan from her parents in 1995. She is the ninth generation of vignerons at Galevan. Most of her production is Cotes du Rhone, but she has 5 acres of vines in Chateauneuf du Pape, and she makes the most of them. She has turned out several beautiful wines, yet another woman among many in the Chateauneuf du Pape appellation who are pushing the envelope of quality, all for our benefit. Her wine is 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre, and is aged in oak for 12-14 months before release.

The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape (a blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre) possesses a deep ruby/purple color as well as a sweet perfume of ground pepper, soy, plum, fig, and oodles of black raspberry and black cherry fruit. Full-bodied, lush, pure, and beautifully textured, it should drink well young, and keep for 12-15 or more years.
