Robert Parker called the 2009 vintage in Bordeaux, “the greatest vintage I have ever tasted.” Naturally, many think that all of the wines will be too expensive now that Parker has proclaimed the vintage as the best he ever tasted. That’s absolutely not the case. Mr. Parker goes on to say, “there are hundreds of reviews that follow where the wines cost well under $25 and represent some of the finest quality money can buy for wine consumers.”
We’ve put together a 2009 Bordeaux Six Pack Sampler that we feel displays the amazing quality you can find in any price range in a vintage as great as this one. The six pack includes Bordeaux from both the left bank and right bank, a 90 pointer, a Parker sleeper, and a 93 pointer that the Wine Spectator listed at $50!
This Sampler Consists of One Bottle Each of:
• Chateau de France Pessac-Léognan (WS 93) • Chateau Hyot Castillon (WS 89) • Chateau de l'Estang Castillon (RP 87-90) • Chateau Lalande Listrac-Medoc (NM 90) • Chateau Pey Faure Bordeaux • Chateau Belian-Giraud Bordeaux

Reviews 2009 Chateau de France - Wine Spectator 93 Points Big and bold, with currant, blackberry and plum fruit backed by espresso, smoke and mineral notes in this muscular red. The powerful character is more menacing than alluring, but this shows impressive structure and depth. Best from 2014 through 2030. 4,000 cases made.-TM
2009 Chateau Hyot - Wine Spectator 89 Points Focused, with racy graphite and licorice notes framing the core of crushed plum and blackberry. Well-integrated acidity supports the finish. A solid red. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2012. 12,000 cases made.-JM
2009 Chateau de L’Estang - Robert Parker 87-90 Points Another sleeper of the vintage, the opaque ruby/purple-tinged 2009 l’Estang exhibits lots of sweet black currant and black cherry fruit intermixed with a hint of vanillin. Medium to full-bodied, with surprisingly pure, concentrated, lengthy flavors, it should drink well for 5-6 years . 2009 Chateau Lalande – Neal Martin's Wine Journal 90 Points What a delightful Listrac Cru Bourgeois this is! Don't even bother reading this note because it is a delicious wine! The nose is bursting full of mulberry, plum and cassis fruit with fine delineation and well integrated oak. The palate is well balanced, taut for the first 30 minutes but magically putting on weight with aeration, revealing layers of sweet red fruits, plum and minerals. This is surfeit with exuberance and nonchalance. Bravo!
2009 Chateau Pey de Faure The nose reveals intense and rich aromas with beautiful notes of morello cherry and blackcurrant. In the mouth, round and full attack which remains in harmony with the fruit. The wine is well structured and balanced with a persistent fruity and spicy finish.-Winemaker's Notes
2009 Chateau Belian Giraud Dark cherries and black currants on the palate, with the silky tannins of 2009. Nice structure leading to a soft, supple finish. Good bargain Bordeaux!-Jon Visser, Wine Buyer
