Located within the village of St Emilion, Chateau Cheval Brun is composed of a blend of 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon is not widely planted in St Emilion because the climate is a bit cooler than the Medoc. This vineyard is located virtually in the village of St Emilion itself, so it has a warmer microclimate than most of St Emilions, allowing the Cabernet Sauvignon to ripen fully.
Jon Visser, Wine Buyer 3 ½ starsLots of blackberry, currant, and black plum with good structure and tannins. It’s a pretty big wine and should age well.
