A Traditional Brunello For A Bargain Price!
It’s not often that you can find a 92 point Brunello that sells for just $29.99 but that’s exactly what we’ve got in the stores right now. The 2006 Terre Nere Brunello di Montalcino just arrived today and we couldn’t wait long to let you know about this one. It’s a delicious old world and traditional Brunello with red fruits, earthiness, and spice.
The Terre Nere estate is located south of Montalcino in Castelnuovo dell’Abate near the well known Sant’Antimo Abbey. Some other well known estates in this area include Ciacci, La Poderina, and Poggio di Sotto.
The 2006 Terre Nere Brunello di Montalcino received 92 points from the Wine Spectator as well as receiving an even higher score from an Italian food and wine website called Wine Dharma. In a tasting they did in January 2012 it ranked as the best along with Siro Pacenti Pelagrilli and Poggio di Sotto. They called it the “Peyton Manning of Brunello.” Reviews Wine Spectator 92 Points
Spicy and already showing some mushroomy and woodsy aromas, this is complex and flavorful, with cherry and tobacco notes and a touch of licorice. Tightly wound, with a lingering, savory aftertaste. Best from 2013 through 2025. 800 cases made. –BS |
