Hermanos del Villar’s 2010 Ipsum is a blend of 85% Verdejo and 15% Viura fermented and aged in stainless steel. Aromas of baking spices, apricot, peach, and honeysuckle inform the nose of a spicy, tasty, nicely balanced white that is a very good value meant for drinking over the next 1-2 years.

Greenish-straw. White flowers, minerals and a whiff of quinine on the citrus-dominated nose. Dry but fleshy, with good lemony cut to its underripe orchard fruit and floral flavors. Bright minerality lingers on the persistent, stony finish. This could almost pass for a riesling.
