The 2009 Reserva Unica (an unfiltered blend of 97% Tempranillo and 3% Graciano) offers up aromas and flavors of lead pencil shavings, cedarwood, new saddle leather, vanillin, black currants and blackberries. This attractive, elegant, medium-bodied, flavorful, well-textured red should drink nicely for another 5-6 years, possibly longer.

Toasty and smoky notes accent the rich plum and chocolate flavors in this broad, balanced red. Features muscular tannins and a savory character that should match well with hearty dishes. Drink now through 2019. 500 cases made.–TM

Deep ruby. Fresh raspberry and floral scents, with suave Asian spice and cola qualities adding complexity. Energetic red fruit flavors show excellent balance and sweetness, picking up floral pastille and mineral nuances with air. Finishes clean and precise, nicely framed by smooth, harmonious tannins. In a distinctly elegant style, especially for the vintage.-JR
