Abadia Retuerta is located just outside of the Ribera del Duero region in Castilla y Leon. Just a few miles from Vega Sicilia, producer of Unico, one of the rarest and most expensive wines of Spain. So, it's no wonder that Abadia Retuerta has been producing world class wines for the past several years at all price ranges.
Their cuvee called Seleccion Especial has always been one of our top selling Spanish red wines under $20. For good reason, it offers similar quality to a $25 Ribera del Duero. A blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Spain meets Bordeaux. This is a great example of a wine with power and finesse at the same time. Rich raspberry and blackberry fruit, with some chocolate, and a nice smokiness on the finish.
