The 2008 Garnacha also spent 10 months in barrel. It delivers an expressive perfume of Asian spices, incense, lavender, mineral, and black cherry. Sweet, round, and dense on the palate, this concentrated offering will benefit from another 1-2 years of bottle age and be at its finest from 2012 to 2020. Pagos del Moncayo’s new releases are all outstanding.

This alluring red packs plenty of flavor in its medium-bodied frame, offering blackberry, brandied cherry, chocolate and spice notes over smooth tannins. There's just enough acidity to keep this lively and focused. Drink now through 2013. 600 cases imported.–TM

Deep, bright ruby. Complex bouquet offers scents of blueberry, boysenberry, cola, dark chocolate and mace. Broad, sweet dark berry flavors display liqueur-like depth and power and are nicely framed by velvety tannins. A tangy mineral note gains strength with air and adds vivacity to the long, sweet, spicy finish. I'd drink this alluring wine on the young side for its exuberant fruit character.
